Handling Unit, the Floor Mounted Air Handling Unit is utilized to condition
& circulate the air as heating, air conditioning system and ventilating. It
is one of air circulation and conditioning equipments which purifies the air in
the room. AHU, known as air handling units which are highly essential parts of
the packaged AC plants, central AC plants, and roof mounted split AC systems.
As the name depicts the air handling unit is a box type of the unit which
controls the temperature of room air. The unit is comprised of the cooling coil
above which the hot air of the room goes and gets cooled & goes back to the
room in order to cool the room. Blower is responsible for the air circulation.
The floor mounted air handling unit
is equipped with a filter which cleans the air. These air handling units are
often known as fan coil units in roof mounted split air conditioning system as
the unit is comprised of fan and cooling coil.
The air handling unit can be installed at
different areas in a building which is to be air conditioned. The units are
connected through the cool air supply & return air ducts that are laid in every
room which is to be cooled. In central AC plants, these air handling units are
installed on the floor, whereas in case of the split AC, these are mounted on
the roof in the room over the false ceiling. In packaged AC plants, these are
installed either on the floor or over the roof.
